Foodgōd Judges the Best Between the Bun at SOBEWFF
It was a big week for Foodgōd.
After celebrating his birthday Thursday night at Komodo (complete with an epic, super-sized version of the special Foodgōd Baked Alaska Surprise dessert), he took on the country’s best burgers. A lot of them.
Hosted by the one-and-only Guy Fieri, the sold-out signature event had no shortage of juicy, cheesy, mouthwatering burgers to sample, as meat lovers from across the nation went from station to station to devour each bite.
When it comes to burgers, Foodgōd calls himself “a purist.” Forget fancy, gussied up toppings and unusual flavors. Just give him a classic done right and he’s happy guy.
But during Friday’s fan favorite burger throwdown, Foodgōd was tasked with trying a whopping 40 different varieties—ranging from classic to non-traditional—and, ultimately, voting for the best.
The indulgent winning cheeseburger was topped with rich bacon-jalapeño jam and pickles.
Burger Bash attendees were also given one vote each, and the Swine Burger, a decadent beef-pork belly mashup from Miami’s own Swine Southern Table & Bar, earned the People’s Choice award.
Foodgōd brought a whole new fanbase to Burger Bash and crushed his first judging gig at SOBEWFF.
Well done! (But not when it comes to burgers, please.)
