Meet the New Pink Food That’s About to Blow Up on Social
Lettuce introduce you to the next big food star on Insta…
Pink radicchio, to be exact. That’s right, your salads are about to get way more ’gram-worthy.
The photo-friendly veggie is called Radicchio del Veneto (aka La Rosa del Veneto), according to Eater. It apparently tastes like an interesting mix of bitter and sweet flavors, and ranges in color from pale pink to a more vibrant fuchsia.
This lovely pink chicory is grown mostly in parts of Italy, but you can also find it at Whole Foods and some farmers markets in California, Pennsylvania, and other US locations.
New Yorkers can also find it on the lunch menu at King in Soho.
Prettying up salads with baby pink leaves sounds like a millennial’s heathy lifestyle dream-come-true. No doubt this visually-appealing ingredient will be around for a while.
And we’re tickled pink about it.
