’Tis the season for sparkles

Cheers to make-your-own bubbly!

Just in time for the holidays, SodaStream announced a new product that will turn your homemade sparkling water into wine.

The limited-edition ‘Sparkling Gold’ tastes like a fizzy version of a fruity Riesling and features 10% alcohol by volume if properly mixed. Just add one part liquid concentrate to five parts sparkling water from your SodaStream machine and voila!—you’ll get 12 glasses of homemade bubbly (and all sorts of holiday cheer).

“Fun and exciting concentrates give more users the opportunity to enjoy and even indulge in festive beverages this holiday season,” Daniel Birnbaum, Chief Executive Officer of SodaStream stated in a press release. “Cheers!”

The bubbly beverage comes in a sleek gold-tinted glass bottle for an extra festive touch. Sounds too good to be true? Well, there is one catch: ‘Sparkling Gold’ is available exclusively on the SodaStream Germany online shop. Though according to the company, this innovative sparkler did exceptionally well when compared to fine French Champagne brands during market testing in Germany, so hopefully it’ll make its way Stateside—and into our flutes—soon.
