Outrageous Cheeseburgers That Actually Exist
What’s more American than a burger? Biting into a juicy, cheesy, soul-satisfying burger is one of life’s most delicious simple pleasures. And lucky for us, our great country has no shortage of mouthwatering burger options.
In honor of National Cheeseburger Day, we’ve rounded up 15 of our favorite tempting—and awesomely over-the-top—burgers from across the nation. We dare you not to drool.
Los Angeles, CA
This new burger joint in LA mashes up different flavors (Korean, Japanese, Mexican, and California) in their menu of monstrous burgers. And you can upgrade any order to “meatzza” style, swapping the top bun for a cheesy pepperoni pizza—a move that’s made Meatzilla an instant social sensation.
New York City & Hoboken, NJ
NYC/NJ’s quintessential sports bar The Ainsworth boasts dozens of flat screen TVs, an always-bustling crowd of bros, and beer-friendly pub grub. Their ever-so popular behemoth burger smothers a beef patty and deep fried mac ’n’ cheese patty with an overflowing amount of creamy mac ’n’ cheese. Pure #InstaGold.
Huntington Beach, CA
This skate-themed burger chain hailing from Orange County, CA, grindz out some of the most mouthwatering meaty creations we’ve ever seen. Case in point: the Grinderz bomb diggity Bird’s Nest, which layers jalapeño-stuffed beef with avocado, cheese, tomato, french fries, and a runny fried egg resting inside a crispy onion ring.
The secret’s out at Lock & Key Social Drinkery and Kitchen. Known for their off-menu items (like a black bun pastrami burger and quesadilla-topped ribeye), the chill gastropub recently debuted a secret Elote Burger—inspired by the popular Mexican street food dish—topped with heaps of fire-roasted corn, chipotle adobo, cotija cheese, cream cheese, scallions, mayo, and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos for some crunchy heat.
Grill ‘Em All
This “heavy metal club house” rocks a rotating burger menu packed with surprising ingredients like hot dogs, peanut butter & jelly, and chicken pot pie filling. And forget about boring buns—you can order Grill ‘Em All sandwiches between fluffy Belgian waffles (like this cheeseburger with bacon, crispy fried chicken, and a fried egg) or two grilled cheese sandwiches.
Newport Beach & other CA locations

We’ll roll with that.

At Burger Bar in San Fran, the Remixed Rossini Burger is a braised short rib-stuffed Kobe beef patty topped with a whole lobster tail, truffle sauce, and black truffle shavings on an onion bun.
