Un-pie-lievable pastry portraits

Taking a pie to the face has a whole new meaning.

In honor of National Pie Day (today), our team is highlighting a uniquely talented artist. Her medium? Pie.

Jessica Clark-Bojin, known as @ThePieous on Instagram, has found her niche: mixing her sweet pie baking skills with her love of pop culture. Leading up to Pie Day, the quirky baker created a series of detailed “pietraits” featuring well-known celebs and popular characters.

Jessica masterfully manipulates everything from the type of dough to the color of the filling to create these visually captivating portraits. Getting the real-life details down is incredibly complex, so each pie can take several hours to complete.

Prince, Oprah, Biggie Smalls, Wonder Woman, David Bowie, Eleven from Stranger Things, and more have already been immaculately immortalized in pie—and were made from suggestions by the bake star’s Insta followers.

Ever dream about having your face on a pie? You’re in luck. @ThePieous is running a ’gram contest today—the winner will receive a photo of their choice turned into pie art and two copies of Jessica’s pie-decorating book, Pie-Modding.

Entering is as easy as pie (get the deets here).

No doubt we’ll see more impressive celeb “pietraits” in the near future, but it’s just a small slice of what Jessica can do. She teased that another artsy pie theme will be announced come February. We’ll have to stay tuned…
