Two Jersey Joints Unleash a Jumbo Pizza Bagel
“When pizza’s on a bagel, you can eat pizza anytime.”
Oh that catchy mid-90’s jingle from when two of our favorite foods—pizza and bagels—first collided and went mainstream. Now, a couple of North Jersey’s most popular casual eateries are reinventing the beloved food mashup in a big way.
Just last week, the pizzeria and sandwich shop collectively debuted the massive “Tony’s JumbO’Bagel,” which is a far cry from those old school mini pizza bagel bites.
Combining two iconic New York/New Jersey foods, this tire-sized treat features a 30-pound jumbo everything O’bagel topped vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, and plenty of smoked pepperoni that gets fired up in the Tony Boloney’s pizza oven. And the result is downright glorious.
The jumbo pizza bagel will set you back $60 and feeds 4-8 people (depending on how hungry you are). It’s available in full pie and slice form on Fridays only at Tony Boloney’s. Note: you can order it 24 hours in advance and there’s a vegetarian option, too.
You wanna pizza this comfort food collab? It’s worth a trip to Jersey alone.
