Beyoncé Rings In Her Birthday with a Geode Cake Fit for a Queen
If anyone knows about show-stopping style, it’s Beyoncé. So it only makes sense that her birthday cake straight slays it, too. Queen B celebrated her 36th over the weekend at Philadelphia’s Budweiser Made in America Festival. And yesterday, the proud owners of local Philly bakery Cake Life Bake Shop shared their beautiful Bey Day creation: an outrageous multi-tiered, black-and-gold geode cake.
The honey and lavender-flavored, three-tiered masterpiece was covered in black fondant and decorated with edible white and yellow sugar crystals to resemble a glistening geode. And it was topped with a shiny gold crown, similar to the headpiece Beyoncé rocked during her iconic Grammy performance earlier this year. Fit for a queen, indeed.
The sweet stunner was delivered to the birthday girl along with two smaller cakes and cute cookies shaped like crowns and beehives (pictures in the post below). Beyhive-approved.
Treats fit for a Queen 👑🐝! Thank you, @Beyonce, for including our cakes and cookies in your birthday celebration!! Dreams truly do come true… Shout out to our team for doing such a great job. Special thanks to the incredible @beccac123! #therealbeydaycake #beyday #beyonce #madeinamericafestival #geodecake #cakelife #cakelifebakeshop
According to Philly Mag, the bakery employees didn’t even realize that they were making the cake for Beyoncé until they did some digging and were able to trace the order back to the singer’s team.
“It was pretty amazing,” shop co-owner Lilly Fischer told the magazine. “Everyone here knows that I love Beyoncé. Pretty much the whole week we just blasted Beyoncé.”
Bow down, that is one fierce cake.
