YUMMY METER

La Fontelina is one of the best restaurants Capri has to offer. Period. The beautiful views, the mouthwatering cocktails, and the fresh seafood blew us away.

A Legendary Establishment La Fontelina

La Fontelina is an exquisite beach club nestled on the Island of Capri, and it is the ultimate escape from the mundane. If you just can’t get enough of gentle Mediterranean waves lapping against the rocky shores, the totally majestic silhouette of the Faraglioni rocks, and a sea of iconic blue and white umbrellas dotting the beachscape, this is the hotspot to visit.

All of these sweet little details create an absolute bucket lister, one that has seduced food lovers and travelers from around the world. We love a good backdrop; the raw, untamed nature and azure sea mean that La Fontelina is an experience.

Setting the Scene: Where Is La Fontelina?

Tucked right up between the dramatic Faraglioni Rocks and the Marina Piccola, La Fontelina has the view of some of Capri’s most breathtaking sights we can only dream of. When you first set foot onto the beach club, you’ll be totally captured by a panorama straight out of a dream.

The majestic Faraglioni rocks stand like broody bodyguards, and you can’t miss that classic Mediterranean sea air, complemented by the gentle Tragara breezes. The island is a total sanctuary if you’re a beauty girlie or just searching for that mix of nature, luxury, and peace because that is so Capri.

What Is a Day at La Fontelina Beach Club Like?

Calling all early risers! Mornings at the beach club are a sacred rite if you just can’t get enough of first light. After sunrise, the beach transforms into pure luxury — which is nothing less than you deserve!

You can’t miss the sea of retro umbrellas, which totally pair with refreshing drinks and can’t-miss views. Cool off from that Italian heat with a dip in the water, or get your tan on by basking in that Med sunshine.

La Fontelina is the perfect place for whispers (we would never!), and our fave beach spot comes alive with quiet conversations, gentle laughter, and the subtle clinking of glasses. Behind it all is a dreamy beach melody that just can’t be captured by a Lo-Fi playlist. We know you’re the connoisseur of the lounge, and at La Fontelina, lounging becomes an art form.

Savoring the Flavors of the Mediterranean at La Fontelina

Hold onto your tastebuds, darling, because dining at La Fontelina is less a meal and more a sultry escapade across the zesty and robust landscapes of Mediterranean flavors.

Gargiulo tomatoes burst onto the scene, flaunting their sun-kissed lushness, while local seafood sashays across your plate. Each sip of sangria sends waves of fruity charisma washing over you. La Fontelina doesn’t do pretentious, honey — it serves up an extravaganza of the raw, the genuine, and the downright enchanting Mediterranean spirit on a platter.

Feeling peckish? Start with antipasti that tells a saucy tale of local mozzarella, cavorting in a luscious ensemble of ripe tomatoes and basil. The pastas aren’t just dishes. They’re an elaborate masquerade of tradition and ingenuity, with classics like linguine allo scoglio orchestrating an irresistible symphony of the ocean’s treasures.

And oh, the seafood, darling! It’s a standing ovation to the enchanting surroundings of La Fontelina. Start with the seabass, a local superstar, baked to sheer perfection and parading alongside a carnival of vibrant veggies.

Don’t just taste, behold! For the visuals here, sweetie, they're an ode to La Fontelina’s natural splendor, concocting a feast for your eyes and palate alike. From the seductive reds of the tomatoes, just like Capri’s sultry sunsets, to the bright whites of the fish, each dish is Capri spinning a yarn — an eloquent, edible portrait just for you.

Desserts? We are all about the dolce vita. They are pure classic Italian amore, coaxing you into a world where tiramisu cozies up to refreshing sorbet, their flavors bursting from the island’s own bountiful orchards. Every bite is a serenade where Italy comes alive, an echo of the peace and pleasure of La Fontelina because you deserve nothing less.

In every scrumptious creation, the soul of Capri, the swagger of the Italian Riviera, and the pastoral pull of the Mediterranean are more than just there. They’re the main act, drama lover, curating a culinary journey that sails beyond delish and into a world of sheer, unadulterated enchantment.

Dining at La Fontelina, sweetie, is so much more than a meal. It’s a spellbinding story, threaded with the crème de la crème of Italian culinary finesse, and you’re the VIP (um, always). Now, what should we toast to?

What’s Beyond La Fontelina?

Reflecting on La Fontelina’s Charm

Oh, Darling, imagine this: La Fontelina doesn’t just kiss the day goodbye — it flirts outrageously with every sunbeam. Your day here is a scandalously joyous affair where tranquility and Capri glam entwine in a sassy dance of sheer fabulousness.

Those waves aren’t lapping. They're serenading you during a lounge-fest of epic proportions. Each bite is a wickedly delicious rebellion against the ordinary. La Fontelina doesn’t whisper.

It cheekily winks, promising more enchanting escapades upon your inevitable return to the eternal soiree of Italian leisure. Until next time, amore.

The drinks are a highlight at La Fontelina, too. After all, if you’re lounging on the beach under the Capri sun, you definitely need a drink (or three) to complete the experience. Their wine selection is phenomenal, and they serve ice-cold sangria all day, along with some delicious signature cocktails.

As with any high-quality restaurant in Capri, the location of La Fontelina is a big deal. While you’re there, you have an unbeatable view of the Faraglioni Rocks, which are gorgeous natural rock formations that dot the island's edges. If you want to get out into the sun, the beach club provides comfy chairs, and plenty of outdoor seating is available while eating.

The desserts are another big standout piece of La Fontelina’s menu. Italian classics like tiramisu and berry pie are done right here. When the meal and dessert were wrapped up, we immediately wanted more.

If you plan on visiting La Fontelina, come prepared with a lot of cash. This is what Google would call a “$$$$” restaurant, which means you can expect to pay $70 to $80 American for a plate. There’s also a fee to get into the beach club for the day, which is about $30 per person.

For the view, the food, the drinks, and the experience, though, we’d say it’s completely worth the price of admission!
